FOREST OWNERS
Meeting Invitation Proposed Commodity Levy
Plantation forestry is one of the country's largest export industries. To maximise its potential for individual owners and New Zealand, the industry needs a strong organisation supported and funded by all. The NZ Forest Owners Association Inc (FOA) believes a compulsory levy under the Commodities Levy Act is the best way to achieve this. It proposes that all harvested wood products from plantation forests should be levied. This will include all products of all species removed from a forest, including wood chips, export logs and logs processed in NZ. A CLA levy will give the FOA a fair funding system and enable all levy payers to have a say in its activities. Find out what the levy entails Give us your feedback The proposal will be described in detail at the public meetings listed below. All meetings will be held at 6pm. CHRISTIAN COMMENT
Live simply so others can simply live. The church was quiet as people gathered their thoughts in preparation for Mass. Then in came a wee boy, bounding enthusiastically through the people, and calling out to his grandparents: "I'm here! I'm here!" He was waving his book in the air to make sure they saw him, (maybe they were deaf), and he beamed with intense joy which I think was matched by his grandparents joy at seeing him. All through Mass my eyes wandered over to this wee two year old, and I couldn't help but compare his entrance into the presence of God with our own. As delighted as his grand parents were to see him, how much happier is our Lord when we come to visit Him. Each of us can confidently yell out to Him "I'm here! I'm here!" I thought of the prodigal son parable, and imagined God's joy would be like the wee boy's grandparents. I bet He just beams with love for us. We had Arch Bishop Dew give the homily that night. He spoke about the NZ Bishops' recent Africans. document on euthanasia. Reflections
Some say you are much closer to God when you're on a high mountain. Is that why I love going up high mountains? The magnificent views lift my spirit in gratitude to God. My friend Dave is very ill, but his spirit was lifted when I prayed for his healing. I pray that he will know that it is Jesus who heals and lifts our spirit.
