LOGGING FOREMAN Juken New Zealand Ltd is looking for a keen professional to manage a company owned, cable logging operation on the East Coast. JNL has its own forests accompanied by large mills in three districts. This will provide the successful applicant with a secure long-term position. JNLs East Coast Forests division currently has three cable logging operations. Our suite of logging gear includes two towers and a swing yarder as well as a skidder, bulldozers and loaders etc. The successful applicant will have proven leadership skills and substantial experience cable logging in steep, broken country. They will be committed to Health and Safety, be customer focused and cost conscious, show good work practices, and be able to manage all aspects of the harvesting operation. A National Certificate in Cable Harvesting is a must with a Dip. in Forestry, Relevant degree or an FEI an advantage but not essential. As a place to live and work, Gisborne has a population of 40,000 with a good choice of schools, a welcome climate and excellent hunting and fishing in its pleasant rural environment. Management of Customary Fishing Tangata Kaitiaki Nomination Under regulation 5 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, Tawhiti Blocks Trust on behalf of Te Whanau a Te Aotawarirangi hapu, have notified the Minister of Primary Industries of their Tangata Kaitiaki. Tui Tuakana Makea Marino, Debbie Delamere and Roger Lewis Tichborne have been nominated as `he tangata kaitiaki rawa ? ma te iwi' to manage customary food gathering between the Waikawa Stream and Waikoko Stream. The area takes in Te Ngutu a Ngaro (Orange Bay) then following the coastline due south to the Waikoko Stream, then heads due east to the 200m EEZ. A description of the area is available by contacting the Ministry for Primary Industries on 0800 00 83 33, or by writing to the Ministry at 59 Awapuni Road, Gisborne 4010. Submissions in response to the above nomination are invited from authorised representatives of: - the tangata whenua on whose behalf the nominations are made; - the iwi, runanga, tribal trust board or other organisation representing the relevant iwi interest; or - any other whanau, hapu or iwi claiming manawhenua manamoana in respect of customary food-gathering in any part of the above area.
